Privacy Policy
We collect as little as we need to run the site, answer your messages and understand which guides are useful. We do not sell your data, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Who we are
RoutineHealth is an independent website written and operated by its founder, Victoria. The operator of the Site is responsible for the personal data collected through it.
For any question about this policy or your data, write to info@routinehealth.me. We answer every message.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Your name, email address and message, when you use our contact form or write to us directly.
- Your email address, when you subscribe to our newsletter. Our newsletter provider also records when you confirmed your subscription and whether you open our emails or click links in them. We use this to see which guides are useful and to remove addresses that no longer read our emails.
Please do not send us health information. We cannot advise on individual medical situations, and we do not want to hold details about your health. If you include them in a message, we use them only to reply and delete them afterwards.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, some information is collected through cookies and similar technologies:
- IP address, which may be shortened or anonymised depending on the tool
- Browser and device type
- Pages viewed, time spent, and the page that referred you
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
Services we use
We rely on a small number of providers to run the Site. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes above:
- Hosting — the provider that stores and serves the Site
- Analytics — Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats
- Security — a service that logs IP addresses to block malicious traffic
- Email delivery — a service that delivers the Site’s automatic emails, such as messages sent through our contact form
- Newsletter — Kit (ConvertKit), which stores your email address and sends the confirmation email and the newsletter
- Email inbox — the provider that hosts our mailbox
- Cookie consent — a tool that records your cookie choices
Google Analytics uses cookies to understand how visitors use the Site. Google describes how it uses this information in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Affiliate links
Some pages contain affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may collect information such as your IP address, device details and activity related to the referral, and may set cookies to attribute the sale. That data is processed under their privacy policies, not ours. We never receive your payment details. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Cookies
We use cookies to remember your preferences, measure how the Site is used, keep it secure, and track affiliate referrals.
Where the law requires consent, non-essential cookies load only after you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings button on every page, and you can delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Site may not work properly without them.
Do Not Track. Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, so the Site does not currently change its behaviour when it receives one. Your choices in the cookie banner and your browser settings are respected.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages — up to 24 months, so we can follow up on corrections and related questions
- Newsletter subscription — until you unsubscribe. Addresses that have not opened any email for 6 months may be removed earlier. If you never confirm your subscription, your address is not added to the newsletter.
- Analytics and security data — according to the retention settings configured in each tool
After that, the data is deleted or anonymised.
International transfers
Some of our providers are located outside your country. When personal data from the EEA or UK is transferred elsewhere, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- see the personal data we hold about you
- correct it
- ask us to delete it
- object to or restrict how we use it
- receive a copy in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.
If you are in the EEA or UK, these rights are guaranteed by law, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority. Residents of some US states have similar rights under state law.
Wherever you live, write to info@routinehealth.me and we will handle your request as far as we reasonably can. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Children
The Site is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets a higher age. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections and security monitoring. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we change the date at the top of the page. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will say so clearly on the Site.
This page works together with our editorial standards, our medical disclaimer and our disclosure about affiliate links.
